First graders learn about horses

PRESCOTT – For the past 20 years, students in the first grade at Prescott Elementary School have learned about horses at the end of the school year.

This year was no different as the youngsters went to the Nevada County Fairgrounds where their equine education was held. They played games and ran races, but they also read to horses, saw how horse trailers are outfitted and got to watch a horse getting ready for new shoes.
