Historic Washington Sets First “Music In the Park” For June 17th
Historic Washington State Park has announced the first concert in the annual Music In The Park summer concert series.
The first free concert will feature Buffalo Bill’s Cowboy Band from Fort Worth, Texas. The concert will be Saturday, June 17, on the 1874 Courthouse Lawn.
The band seeks to preserve the history of one of America’s famous 19th-century traveling shows. The Wild West music library is made up of musical compositions and arrangements from The Golden Age of American Bands (1880-1920) and includes pieces written specifically for Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. The production utilizes the 20-plus member band, two actors, appropriate set pieces, and dressings.
“If you ever have a chance to see Buffalo Bill’s Cowboy Band, I assure you it is one band you won’t want to miss. Take the kiddies, the grandparents, and anyone who is willing to go. Make it a family night! This is one form of entertainment you won’t have to censor.” – J D Whyte, Entertainment Industry Examiner
Free concerts will also be held in July and August.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. The gift shop will be open for refreshments until 8:30 p.m.
