Sgt. Johnny Weaver recognized

HOPE – A Hope Police Officer is being recognized. On June 13th at 10:15 pm, Sgt. Johnny Weaver received a call from dispatch in reference to an unresponsive female located in the 300 block of South Washington Street.
Upon arrival, Sgt. Weaver observed the female to be unresponsive and not breathing. Sgt. Weaver immediately began administering CPR. While doing chest compressions, the woman began to breath but remained unresponsive. The female stopped breathing again and Sgt. Weaver continued chest compressions with assistance from others. Pafford EMS and the Hope Fire Department arrived and began medical care. EMS was able to find a pulse and transferred the woman to Wadley Regional Medical Center at Hope.
“Sgt. Weaver’s actions contributed to preserving life until more advanced medical care could be provided. The Hope Police Department would like to recognize Sgt. Weaver for his extraordinary actions and consider him for a Life Saving Award for his response to this incident,” the department said in a statement.
