Dr. Roy Turner Honored By Community of Fulton
Fulton had a commemoration and dedication of a plaque for Roy Turner at the city park. Many people showed up to honor him and the statements made all reflected the impact he had on the community. It was stated that in the 56 years together he never blew his own horn and the desire to truly thank God for him. Roy was said to make a part of life that was irreplaceable. The Ambrosia Lodge of the Masons spoke and called up members who were there in his honor.. Dr. Crossley talked about the hundreds of not thousands of people he had an impact on. A fellow council member stated Dr. Turner never said anything derogatory about council members. He was very quiet and very thoughtful. The speaker talked about other desirable traits that he embodied.
Judge Crane spoke about the desire for people to come together and not to let Dr. Turner down Crane stated let’s come together as a community and let’s keep things going.
In conversation Mary Hendrix said he was a sweetheart in her book as he was a joy to be around, was highly intelligent and chose to give back to his home town.
