First United Methodist To Commence Services In Historic Downtown Church

First United Methodist of Hope will hold its first worship service Sunday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm Street in Hope.

All are invited to hear Reverend David Wilson bring the worship message and to enjoy lunch afterward in the Parish Hall.  Rev. Wilson is a former resident of Hope and former District Superintendent of the Southwest District of the Arkansas Conference of United Methodists.

The membership of St. Mark’s Episcopal has welcomed First United Methodist to share their beautiful historic church in order to worship God in the Methodist tradition.  St. Mark’s will continue their regular Episcopal worship services on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, while First United Methodist will meet each Sunday.

First United Methodist is grateful to be able to share the love of Christ in the beautiful facility and is grateful for the spirit in which the membership of St. Mark’s has welcomed the new congregation.
