Hope Lions Club Holds Officer & Board Installation Banquet

The Hope Lions Club held their annual Officer and Board Member Installation Banquet Monday at Hempstead Hall.  The club enjoyed prime rib with the trimmings served by Sheba’s Family Restaurant.

Current President Charles Looney began the program by bringing up the outgoing officers.  Following the officers, those with perfect attendance were recognized.  Of particular note, James Griffin had 18 years of perfect attendance, Mark Ross 17 years, and Claudia Griffin and John Collier had 16 years perfect attendance.

The new officers and board members included Past President Charles Looney, Marketing & Communication Coordinators Mark Keith and Eddie Garcia, Global Membership Team Coordinator Mark Ross, Global Service Team Coordinator Claudia Griffin, LCIF Chair Don Freel, Safety & Emergency Response Officer Robin Lee, Lion Tamers Jack Still, Ed Flagg, and T.J. Fackler.  Tailtwisters include Pattie Bradford, Jeff Smithpeters, and Craig Robinson.  Bobby Loe will serve as Assistant Treasurer and Debbie March will serve as Treasurer.  John Collier will serve as Assistant Secretary and Karen Smith as Secretary.  3rd Vice-President is James Bradford, 2nd Vice-President Jason Jobe, 1st Vice-President Steve Atchley, and President Milko Smith.

Several special Lions awards were given.  Janie Collier, T.J. Fackler, and John Hicks received Edwin Dalstrom awards.  Three people received Roy Kumpe awards, Ed Flagg, Craig Robinson, and Mona Still.   Melvin Jones awards went to Jack Still, Chuck Key, and Mark Ross.

Lions of the Year was a tie between T.J. Fackler and Charles Looney.

President Charles Looney handed off the gavel to new President Milko Smith and President Smith then presented Looney with a past-president’s award.

Entertainment was provided by Grace Silvey on the piano.
