Traffic stop leads to charges

SARATOGA – Two people were arrested following a Saturday morning traffic stop in Saratoga. Alan Wayne Bohannon, 61, showing a Hope address, was booked into the Howard County Jail in Nashville charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Expired Driver’s License, and No Seat Belt. Barbara Gail Rael, 61, with an Ashdown address, was booked into the Howard County Jail on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance With Purpose.

Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins said Hempstead County Deputies contacted his deputy Aaron Quick to be watching for a vehicle with an expired temporary tag that may be coming from Millwood Lake through Saratoga. The Howard County Deputy initiated a traffic stop and was joined by Hempstead County Deputies.

Sheriff McJunkins said a vehicle search allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
