The superintendents report this month didn’t include community recognitions but rather a discussion of the book, The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon, which focuses on how to build a more positive team.
Superintedent Dr. Jonathan Crossley asked for and received responses from the School Board on the reading. This included a discussion on energy vampires – those who exclusively focus on the negative and draw others down. The question was asked how to deal constructively with them.
The theme of the meeting continued with how to internalize the positivity and lead boldly and the importance of working together
The author of The Energy Bus is coming to town and speaking. Since the amount is over the initial limits it needed Board approval. He will be speaking for 90 minutes at Hempstead Hall and it will be a professional development event. The money will come from state professional development funds.
After an initial reservation about the cost, Bubba Powers motioned to accept the invoice which was seconded and passed.
Dr. Crossley moved on to personnel with three, possibly more positions to be filled.
There was a motion by Ms. Haynes to accept the personnel policy, which was seconded and passed
With no further business the meeting adjourned.
