Ground broken for Emmet pavilion

EMMET – Local residents and other dignitaries celebrated the groundbreaking for its multi-purpose pavilion (Firemen’s Park Pavilion) located at Firemen’s Park.
In March of 2023, the City of Emmet in collaboration with Emmet Vision Association (EVA) was awarded a 2022 Fun Park Grant in the amount of $100,000 from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Heritage and Tourism. This award will aid Emmet in constructing a multi-purpose pavilion with electrical and water access. The city will also add handicap parking and repair the walking path to the pavilion from the handicap parking spaces. With this addition, Emmet anticipates an increase in outdoor recreation and activities that will encourage social gatherings and a healthy lifestyle for its citizens.
The City of Emmet and Emmet Vision Association were honored to have the following people participate in the groundbreaking ceremony. Janet Choate – Farmers Bank & Trust, Glenn Spears – Spears Engineering, David Fielding – Former State House Representative, Wanda Bullock – Pastor of UCC of Emmet, Mayor Dale Booker, Beth Moore – Arkansas Department of Agriculture, Mike Otwell – Nevada County Judge, Deanna Allen – Emmet Vision Association, JoAnn Muldrew – Grant Writer and Emmet Vision Association member.
