Hope School Board Holds Special Session


The School Board met for a special called meeting in the Administration Building. School Board Member Jimmy Courtney made a motion to go into closed session which was seconded and passed.
After the session there were two statements which were accepted as true with Board Member Bubba Powers making the motion to accept, which were seconded and passed. Following this was a motion by Powers to accept the superintendents recommend dismissal of an employee.
Ms. Haynes made a motion to accept the personnel packet which was seconded and passed.
Superintendent Dr. Crossley recommended continuing the current school insurance policy and Ms. Haynes made a motion to accept the quote. This was seconded and passed.
Dr. Crossley talked about an alteration of the bus driver pay with band and coaches receiving more for trips of less than hour than they previously had. Bubba Powers made a motion to accept the change, which was seconded and passed.
There were three students who wanted to transfer schools – two from Nashville and one from Nevada. Dr. Crossley recommended the acceptance of all three requests. Ms. Haynes made a motion to accept the petition which was seconded and passed.
The meeting adjourned.
