Mike Monroe

On Thursday July 27th, 2023 we bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved Mike, who touched the lives of many with his passion for hunting, fishing, and unwavering love for his family and friends. With heavy hearts, we share the news of his passing after a courageous battle with a weakening heart.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. Whether he was tracking game or casting his line into the waters, he found a profound connection to the wilderness. His love for the great outdoors was clear. He was almost always ready with a story of his latest catch or adventure.
Beyond his passion for the great outdoors, Mike’s love for his family knew no bounds. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will forever be treasured. As a devoted son, father, and friend, he exemplified the true meaning of unconditional love and support. Whether you met him sitting on a stool at Crow-Burlingame or growing up on Walnut Street, you immediately knew he was a genuinely funny, kind and unique person. He lived life on his own terms and he laughed and loved with everything he had. His generosity with family and friends was unmatched and his big hugs were a gift that we will all miss.
Throughout his journey, Mike exhibited immense strength, determined to beat the health challenges that continued to come his way. His resilience and determination were a source of inspiration to all who fought alongside him. He never gave up hope of walking, fishing and LIVING again.
As we mourn the loss of an extraordinary individual, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. Mike’s heart may have given up the fight, but his love will be felt forever in the lives of everyone that knew and loved him. We are so thankful that he is at peace with his Heavenly Father and we celebrate the life that he lived here with us…..to know him and to love him was truly a beautiful gift.
Mike is survived by his mother Jean Monroe, his sister Betty Monroe Fishback (Joe), his brother Jerry Monroe (Susan) and his children Chris Monroe (Allison), Drew Monroe (Leah) and Beth Monroe Dennis (Michael).
