Watermelon Festival Parade Benefits From Cooler Temps

The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce put on their annual watermelon parade starting at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home on Monday (8-7). The parade went down Main St. by the train station and around by the Courthouse. While the weather looked ominous earlier in the day it cleared out in time for the parade and was cooler because of the the rain so people enjoyed staying outside.
