Rev. Britt Skarda to be Guest Pastor At First United Methodist Sept. 10th

  Retired pastor Reverend Britt Skarda of Little Rock will be the guest pastor for First United Methodists of Hope Sunday, September 10.  First United Methodists meet at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm, in Hope.

      Rev. Skarda, a native of Des Arc, Arkansas, is the author of Sabbath Born, Reflections of a Reluctant Prophet.  A graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, he received his Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University in North Carolina.

      Rev. Skarda retired from active ministry in June 2020 after serving 10 years as Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church’s senior pastor.  He has recently served an appointment as interim pastor at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church and has previously served as senior pastor at Bearden UMC, Thornton UMC, Henderson UMC in Little Rock, and Springdale First UMC, as well as serving churches in North Carolina and as pastor of outreach at Pulaski Heights.

      He is the married father of three and grandfather of four.  

      First United Methodists of Hope invite everyone to worship and to hear Rev. Skarda’s message this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
