Historic Washington Holds Opening Reception for “Artists of Washington” Exhibit

 

Historic Washington State Park hosted an opening reception for “Artists of Washington”, a new exhibit at the park’s 1874 Visitor Information Center at 100 SW Morrison Street in Washington.  Steven Carlson,  an expert on local artist Effie Anderson Smith was on hand to speak.

The work of artists from 19th-century to present-day Washington and Hempstead county will be showcased in the “Artists of Washington” exhibit. It will feature artwork from Hempstead County residents, including Jenny Delony Rice, Mary Carrigan and Ann Bittick.

Carlson curated a 3 day showing of Smith’s works prior to the opening of the current exhibit.
