September Weather Statistics for Hope

September may have seemed excessively hot but the average temperature was 8.27 degrees cooler than normal in Hope.  According to statistics released by Hope’s official weather station, the Southwest Research and Extension Center, the average air temperature for September in Hope was 65.63 degrees compared to a normal average of 73.90 degrees.  The  highest temperature recorded was 98 degrees on September 3rd and 7th.  There were eight days in September that highs in the 90’s were recorded.  The low temperature was 53 degrees recorded on September 18th.  There were 12 days with lows in the 50’s.

Rainfall for September was near normal in Hope.  September rainfall was 3.74 inches compared to a normal rainfall of 3.8 inches.  The year-to-date rainfall is 47.07 inches compared to normal rainfall of 38.7 inches meaning rainfall for the year in Hope is up 8.37 inches for the year.
