Hwy. 67 garage sale successful

PRESCOTT – Saturday dawned chilly, but clear with sunny blue skies. Perfect weather for the annual Garage Sale on Hwy. 67.

All along Hwy. 67, inside the Prescott city limits, both sides of the road were lined with people’s booths, selling items they no longer wanted or needed, but others just couldn’t live without. There was a bit of everything available, especially clothes. However, there was also artwork, dishware, tools, exercise equipment and furniture.

Parking was at a premium as people flocked to see what was available and barter for the best price, maybe to fill out their collection, or possibly to start a collection. Whatever the reason for their being there, the sale was a lively place. The farmer’s market pavilion had several vendors peddling their wares, which included jams, jellies and plenty of sweet potatoes.

There was a gap between Prescott and Emmet, but the Emmet Vision Association staked out a spot next to 67 Gas and Grill for its annual sale. One youngster found a precious artifact (a Batman figurine), he just had to have.

All in all, it was a successful event for the two communities.
