BC Dance Studio Opens in Hope

A new dance studio has opened in Hope.  The new BC Dance Studio is currently located in the H & H Fitness building on the bypass.  The owner and proprietor is Bethany Cavinder Cox.

Bethany Cavinder Cox began dancing at the age of 6 and never looked back.
Bethany’s training includes Ballet, Tap, Clogging, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, and Hip
Hop. As a performer, Bethany was on a dance scholarship to the University of Central
Oklahoma where she had the opportunity to study with various master teachers,
including Lara Teeter, Bill Evans, Hui Cha Poos, Malaya, and Robyn Connors. At UCO
she received her Bachelor’s Degree with a Minor in Psychology. She is a former
Bandits Ice Dancer, performed with Ballet Oklahoma, and has given seminars in
American Jazz Dancing to students in the Oklahoma City School System. She travels
the US teaching classes for various competitions, conventions and organizations.
Bethany began choreographing at the age of 11 winning her first national dance title
that same year. At 17, she opened the Company B Dance Studio, where her students
won numerous scholarships, high point titles, and judges choice awards. In September
2010 she opened BC Dance in Texarkana, Texas. Her students continue to receive top
honors at both the regional and national levels and have performed in New York,
London, multiple shows in Branson, the Valero Alamo Bowl, Walt Disney World, and the
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Bethany has also won choreography awards in Musical
Theatre, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Jazz and was a feature choreographer for
country music recording artist, Petrella. She is a Field Director for the Miss Texas and
Miss Arkansas Volunteer pageants. Her daughter, Rachel, was a performing member
of the Kaleidoscope Dance Company and was top 7 at Miss Texas Outstanding Teen.
She is the owner of The Dance Challenge convention and runs a non-profit Charity
Show each Christmas that has raised over $30,000 for local charities. Bethany just
opened her second studio location this Fall in Hope, Arkansas.
