Hope Kiwanis Club Hears From Bubba Powers of Southwest Mental Health

The Hope Kiwanis Club recently heard from Bubba Powers of Southwest Mental Health.  Powers has been working in the juvenile justice system for 25 years, the last 8 as Director of Youth Services for Southwest Mental Health.  Powers explained his agency provides probation services for 13 counties covering an area from DeQueen to Hampton and Fordyce.  Powers said the organization has 16 probation officers.  He detailed the challenges of his field and noted there are always needs in behavioral health.  Powers is getting ready to retire and offered reflections on his years in working with juveiles.
