First United Methodist Church of Hope Welcomed Rev. Edna Morgan on October 22nd, Rev. Bruce Bennett Set for Oct. 29th

First United Methodist Church of Hope was privileged to have Rev. Edna Morgan in the pulpit Sunday, October 22. Rev. Morgan is the District Superintendent and Chief Mission Strategist for both the Southwest and Southeast Districts of the Arkansas United Methodist Conference. She resides in Pine Bluff.
As a self-described “lifetime learner,” Rev. Morgan received a Master’s Degree in Educational Supervision and Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL, in 1982, and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary in 2005.
She was a civil servant across the U.S. and overseas for 26 years, retiring as a Program/Management Analyst in 2004. Board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains in 2007, she served as Crime Victim’s Chaplain of the Arkansas United Methodist Conference 2005-2009.
Rev. Morgan also received a Masters in Counseling at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2014 and was licensed by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling in 2023. She has served as pastor or associate pastor at several United Methodist churches in the Pine Bluff area, was appointed District Superintendent, Southeast District in 2021 and Southwest District Superintendent this year.

Rev. Morgan enjoys supervising pastors and leading district laity in “making disciples of Jesus Christ who make disciples equipped and sent to transform lives, communities and the world.”
