Hope Kiwanis Hears Program About Hope in Action

The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Paul Henley and Craig Tomlinson from Hope in Action on the final day of October. Henley, who has worked with Hope in Action since it started in the mid 1980’s. He noted they have Hope in Action #1 at 604 to 618 West Third which is an old tourist court. Hope in Action #2 is at the former migrant center on highway 67 west. Henley noted Hope in Action sprang from efforts from the Ministerial Alliance.
Hope in Action has one paid employee, Mae Dulaney, at the food pantry at Hope in Action #1. Hope in Action #2 has 10 rooms and several trailers. Craig Tomlinson who volunteers at #2 told his story about how he came to volunteer through a friend in Texarkana.
Henley noted Hope in Action is a little short on food these days. Anyone who would like to donate non-perishable food may bring it by Hope In Action #1 on West Third.
