Joseph Willett

Mr. Joseph V. Willett age 90 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday January 10, 2024, in Texarkana, Texas. Joseph was born on November 15, 1933, in Hempstead County near Emmet, Arkansas, to Joe L. and Mary Lee Rogers Willett. He was of Catholic faith and a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean war where he received the Korean Svc. Medal, National Defense Svc. Medal, and U.N. Svc. Medal. Joseph graduated from East Texas State and then went to work for the Del Monte Corp. as a field superintendent for the eastern district dairy self-production. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Renee Willett of 66 years and sister, Barbara Whiting.

Survivors include: three children, son, Joey Willett, (Judy) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, daughter Beth Mercier of Little Rock, Arkansas, daughter, Susan Lammers, (Lynn) of Beebe, Arkansas, brother, Jack Willett wife, “Cee” Cecilia, of Stephenville, Texas, brother-in-law John “Skip” Whiting of Stephenville, Texas, one grandson, Major Roger Willett, (Lorrin) of Junction City, Kansas, five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Gage, Lexi, Lily, Everleigh and many other family and friends.

There will be no public memorial service, but a private family service will be held in the future.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Farrell Hicks for helping take care of their dad in later years.
