Hope Planning & Zoning Commission

The Hope Planning and Zoning Commission met at Hope City Hall January 23rd.   The minutes from the previous meeting were approved. There were two items: Hope Public Schools’ request for a special use permit for an animal science lab and David Muldrow’s request of a side yard variance to allow a new addition.
The Hope Agricultural Education department is seeking to put a small animal science lab beside the agricultural building. The facility will house small animals such as goats, sheep and rabbits. Students will use these animals to further their animal science education and use them for labs as well as supervised agricultural experiences daily.  The Hope School District has  requested more information about the letters which need to be sent to surrounding landholders in order to proceed.  As there weren’t sufficient voting members to approve, the matter was table until the next meeting on February 26th at 12:00.
Muldrow’s request for a variance was approved.  The meeting then adjourned.
