Deadline nears for Citizen, Hero of the Year

PRESCOTT – With the Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce right around the corner, it’s time to nominate deserving residents for Citizen of the Year and Hometown Hero of the Year.

This year’s banquet is scheduled for April 23.

Any county resident can nominate someone for Hometown Hero and/or Citizen of the Year.

The nominees for both must be county residents and the reason for nomination must be submitted in writing. For Hometown Hero, the nominee must either be in the military or served in the military or currently work for a fire department, police, rescue unit or ambulance. For Citizen of the Year, the nominee must have their business in the county.

A selection committee will judge the nominees based on the following criteria: outstanding service to family, city, county, state, church, fraternal, recreational, industrial and educational.

The deadline to submit names is Monday, Feb. 26. Submissions can be mailed to: Citizen/Hero of the Year, c/o Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 443, or 125 E. Main, Prescott, AR 71857.
