Spring Hill School Board

The Spring Hill School Board met on Tuesday (2-20). The meeting started with a prayer followed by the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting and the financial report. There wasn’t an elementary report other than the enrollment numbers as the principal was absent. The total enrollment for the elementary is 367 with 16 of those being pre K.
For the high school, the enrollment was 291 which is up one student from last month. The parent teacher conference had more in attendance than in the fall. The CTE showcase will be Wednesday Feb 28th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Everyone is invited to attend. The first testing period with the new ATLAS platform is March 7th and 8th. This will be the writing part of the test. 7th and 8th grade will be Thursday, the 7th, 9th and, 10th grade will be Friday the 8th.
The board approved the transfer of a student from Hope.
The school calendar was revised to make up for snow days. Instead of going by 178 total days theĀ  schools are going by 1068 total minutes. The district has had extra minutes with longer days do this will meet state requirements.
The superintendent’s contract was renewed with a 10% raise.
Both principals’ contracts were renewed with a 5% raise for the high school and a 2% for the elementary.
For the expenditures over $5,000 the ASBA Workers’ Comp quote of $13, 296 was approved.
There was information on how much volleyball uniforms and supplies would cost for the initial costs. Spring Hill is considering the possible startup of teams.
There were no personnel issues to be discussed.
