Fire Destroys House at Bois d’Arc

A house fire at Bois d’Arc Lake at 114 Spring Lake Road in southern Hempstead County destroyed a house and caused minor damage to two others Thursday (2-29).  The Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department was called out around 9:20am to the fire.  The house was a total loss.  The occupant told firemen he woke up to find the house full of smoke and escaped to call the authorities.  The fire caused minor damage to the two houses on either side of the destroyed house.

Both Spring Hill and Patmos responded to the fire.  Firemen were on the scene about three hours.
