Hope Kiwanis Hears Program on “Spectrum of Light” Autism Support Group

The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Pam Edmondson and Chris McCauley about the “Spectrum of Light” Autism Support Group that now is active in Hope. The group’s mission is to advocate, support, share resources, and empower each Autism stakeholder on their journey in order to thrive in our community.
Autism Spectrum Disorder includes a range of neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by deficits in social communication and interactions along with restrictive, repetitive patterns of behaviors, interests, and activities.
The group holds parent/caregiver support meetings monthly at the Presbyterian Church “Manse” (parsonage) on south Main. The group is also working on a 5k for Autism Acceptance Month in April, family outings, and resources for parents and caregivers.
For information on the group phone Edmondson at 870-602-1124 or Chris McCauley at 830-399-2904.
