Hope Police Holds “Badges, Burgers, and Bobbers” Fishing Tournament

The Hope Police Department held its first annual Badges, Burgers, and Bobbers event at Fair Park. There were many sponsors including Atwoods, La Mangonada, B and R Building Supply, Walmart, Pafford, Hempstead County Library, Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, Hope Baking Company, Piggly Wiggly, Tabs, Dos Locos Gringos, Hope High School, AR Game and Fish, Quantum Company, Townsend Outdoors and Tyson.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission stocked the pond and gave prizes.  The Quantum Company supplied 100 fishing poles. The Hope High School FFA made the plaques. A special thanks was given for Glen Collums from Tyson for his cooking.
The winners of the competition were: Kayze Jones for the most, Haven Halliday for the smallest, and Khari Sorenson for the largest in the Peewee level. For the junior level the winners were Kenzion Willis for both the most and the smallest and Hope Crawford for the biggest. For the senior level the winners were: Tyler Lyon for both the most and the smallest and Jemiah McMorris for the largest.
