Heart of America Arts Association Holds “Painting in the Parks” Exhibit at Washington

The Heart of America Artists Association held Painting the Parks Art Exhibit in the Hempstead County 1874 Courthouse in Historic Washington State Park on Sunday.
Paintings were oil, acrylic and watercolors. The artists were inspired by both the buildings and nature and painted Historic Washington with a church, the catalpa trees, the courthouse and other places in the Park.
The artists came from a few different places such as Northwest Arkansas and Tennessee as well as Missouri.
There was also a competition with prizes given. There was a three way tie with Kitty Harvill (“Catalpa”), Evelyn E. Jorgenson “The Stories I Could Tell”) and Cynthia Schanink (“Campfire”). Honorable Mention went to Evelyn Jorgenson (Jailhouse B&B) and David Hyatt (Abandoned on Mill).
