Nevada County Emergency Management Hosts “Skywarn” Class in Prescott

By Nevada County Emergency Management, 03/26/24 10:18 PM

We had a wonderful turn out March 26th for the Skywarn Class in Prescott. Aaron Davis with The National Weather Service of Shreveport, LA, educated the group on “how storm cells develop” and “what to watch for”. Aaron took the time to prepare us on what to watch for and what to report to the NWS for our area. By attending this course, we are taking the steps to be able to better prepare the citizens of Nevada County for bad weather. We would like to take this opportunity to thank First Baptist Church of Prescott for allowing us to use their gym and host this course at their facility. We would also like to thanks Aaron for making the trip to Prescott and taking the time to educate us on this serious matter. The National Weather Service of Shreveport is a true assest to the citizens of Nevada County and we are eternally grateful for the research and job they do to notify and protect the Arklatex. Huge shoutout to the First Responders of Nevada County for being proactive and taking the time to educate themselves on severe storms and how this can affect the citizens of Nevada County and surrounding areas.
