Holli Boyett and Ashley Herron Bring “The Call” to the Hope Lions Club

The Hope Lions Club heard from Holli Boyett and Ashley Herron (not pictured) at the first Lions meeting of April concerning “The Call”. “The Call” is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that recruits, train, and support local foster families. Boyett says they focus on children and families impacted by foster care. She noted that on average in any 24 hour period, more than one dozen children across Arkansas will come into foster care. They will join over 4,000 children who are currently in the state foster care system. This year, over 8,000 children in Arkansas will spend some time in the foster care system. There are only about 1,400 foster care homes in the state with only 6 foster families in Hempstead County. Approximately five to six dozen youth are in foster care in Hempstead County.
