Clouds break for eclipse fans

By John Miller, 04/8/24 2:20 PM

PRESCOTT – It was touch and go for a while as clouds covered the sun Monday afternoon, blocking the solar eclipse.

However, a break in the clouds allowed those who wanted to see this event to view to their heart’s content – or until it ended. There were no problems connected to the eclipse. Businesses operated as usual and there was no traffic problems on Interstate-30 in the Prescott area. If anything, traffic on the interstate was lighter than normal.

Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver said there were no problems associated with the eclipse where the city was concerned. When the sun was fully covered, though, street lights lit up as their sensors detected the lack of light. The lights remained on until the sun was uncovered again.
