The Hope Downtown Network met in the Tailgater’s Annex on Thursday (4-18). The new planters in the Pocket Park were discussed. It was announced that mulch was donated by Old Castle by way of Whit Powell. Cinder blocks were put in the bottom and mulch put in them. The idea was put forward that pots be placed in the planters and removed at the end of the season. A decision was made to have the tables be blue, purple, and green so they would contrast with the planters.
The minutes from the last month’s meeting and the financial report were approved.
John Johnson will be installing toilets in the Downtown Network building. Applying for a T-Mobile grant for the building was discussed.  For this there has to be a use for the building such as using it as an incubator space for businesses. At the back of the building will be a space for meetings. There will be storage space. The grants need pictures and five support letters.  Sherwin Williams has been approached about donating paint. Brentwood might be approached for help in painting.
A Taste of Hope was also talked about with including the activities and the entertainment.  DJ Rogers will be performing. The music will be from the 50s and 60s. Steve Harris is working on the gardens. This city has notified the HDN that a trash barrel for the pocket park has arrived and needs to be installed. Those voting on the proposed project this year will be charged to vote.
On May 28th the Downtown Network is in charge of the hospitality table at the Hope Farmers Market.
Adding new positions to the HDN was discussed before the meeting adjourned.
