April Wetter, Cooler Than Normal in Hope

The weather in Hope was both cooler and wetter than normal according to statistics compiled by the Southwest Research and Extension Center which serves as Hope’s official weather station.

Rainfall was 7.51 inches for the month of April.  This compares to normal rainfall of April of 4.56 inches.  Hope ended the month up 2.95 inches.  The year-to-date rainfall is 25.05 inches and the normal rainfall at the end of April was 18.14 inches which means rainfall for the year in Hope is up 6.91 inches from normal.

The average temperature in Hope for April was 57.93 degrees.  That compares to a normal average temperature of 61.70 degrees.  Hope finished April with an average temperature of 3.77 inches.  The low temperature for the month was 38 degrees.  This low was recorded on April 22nd and 23rd.  The high temperature was 86 degrees which was recorded on April 19th.
