ASP honored with appreciation luncheon

PRESCOTT – It was appreciation day for the Arkansas State Police Tuesday.

Troopers, staff and officials with the ASP were honored for their service with a steak lunch at the Barn at Willow Oaks. This has become an annual event held the last 10 years. The reason behind it is so farmers and ranchers can show their appreciation for the help they receive from the ASP when cows get out or they need a road blocked so cattle can be moved from one side to another as pastures are swapped. However, it’s also to show thanks for the men and women of the ASP putting their lives on the line to keep the public protected.

Brandon Wren read a list of donors to the event. He had the new troopers stand and be recognized.

The event was well attended. The menu included steak, smoked sausage, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, rolls and dessert, along with tea and water.

The officers enjoyed taking time off, sitting around and swapping stories with those they don’t see often.

Those who helped with the luncheon were: Danny Pickering, Brandon Wren, Ivan Pickering, Kenny Pickering, Dale Sansom, Damon Young, Daryl Livingston, Brett Fosset, Dan York, Sen. Jimmy Hickey, Jay Hickey, Shirley Pierce, Kelley Pickering, Dana Pickering, and Janis Wren.

Farm Credit—Clay Lance, Cory Dice and Watt Wooten.
Others included were: Bruce Alford, Linda Alford, Pastor Jeff Shreve, Chris Schroeder, Quinn Stanfill, and Eric Russell.
From Chicken Express— Rick Doty and Kirk Killet.
