Hempstead County Democratic Women Meet, Doris Brown to Serve As President Through 2024

By Eric Mclaurin, 05/21/24 5:50 PM

The Hempstead County Democratic Women met at the Hempstead County Library on Monday (5-20). The meeting started with a prayer. The purpose of the meeting was to decide what to do with the money accumulated and to arrange for some banking changes.  In order to accomplish this, certain positions needed to be filled and this was done. After the question was raised if the organization should be disbanded, a vote determined the group will not disband.  The intention is to rebuild the organization.
Judy Flowers will take Doris Brown’s place as joint Treasurer along with Gayle Wolfenbarger. Doris Brown will be the President until the next election in January. Alice Straighter will serve as the Vice President and Linda Clarke as the Membership Coordinator.
The dues are $25 a year. The meetings will be the second Monday of each month at 4:30.
The meeting adjourned.
