Clyde William Hardamon, Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 22, 1946, to his parents Clyde Hardamon, Sr. and Virginia Hardamon. He was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Roosevelt and Harriet Hardamon, in Prescott, Arkansas. He transitioned to his eternal home in Dallas, Texas on May 18, 2024.
Clyde graduated from McRae High School in 1964. He was an accomplished basketball athlete and academic scholar and would use those gifts as he began his collegiate career. Clyde attended Tougaloo College where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in History. During his time at Tougaloo, he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He received his Master of Science in Education from Henderson State University in 1971. In the Summer of 1972, he completed an additional graduate program at the University of South Carolina.
In the mid-1970s he began working at El Dorado High School as a guidance counselor. On October 7, 1983, Clyde joined Vanessa Frazier in marriage. To this union, two daughters were born, Harriett and Victoria. In 1984, Clyde moved to Dallas, Texas, and continued to provide social services for an additional 30 years with the Dallas Housing Authority and Head Start of Greater Dallas.
He was an avid basketball and football sports fanatic. Clyde was also a connoisseur of Motown and R&B music. He was a sentimental man who cherished spending quality time with his daughters and grandkids, who referred to him as Papaw.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers, Archie and Robert Hardamon; and his beloved dog, Diamond. Those left to cherish his loving memory and mourn his passing include his two daughters, Harriett S. Hardamon and Victoria Wilson; two grandchildren, Blake Hardamon and Serenity Wilson; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be Saturday, June 1, 2024, 11:00 AM at Sweet Home Cemetery1021 Nevada 41, Prescott, AR  71857.Repast will be after the service will be at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 336 Nevada 290 Lackland Road, Prescott, AR  718
