Hope Police Chief Kim Tomlin Speaks to Civitan Club
Hope Police Chief Kim Tomlin was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Hope Civitan Club. Pictured with Civitan President Mona Still, Chief Tomlin brought good news as she enlightened the club members on the many ways the Hope Police Department interacts with the public, in addition to every-day crime-fighting.
Some of the programs she covered included Santa Cop, which has been on-going for over 15 years; Halloween Drive-Through; National Night Out; a grant program for parents in need of a car seat; and a new program — “Badges, Burgers and Bobbers” — a fishing derby on Huckabee Lake.
Chief Tomlin was quick to give credit to her patrol officers for carrying out those programs and others, which in some cases were created by those officers. She also credited her 16 patrol officers with fundraising throughout the year to provide funds for the programs.
Following her presentation, Chief Tomlin welcomed questions from her audience of Civitans, who meet at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Dos Loco Gringos Restaurant. Visitors are welcome to attend any meeting.
