Retired teachers hosting cereal drive

PRESCOTT – The Nevada County Retired School Employee Association will be sponsoring a “Cereal Drive” in June.

We will be collecting cereal, instant oatmeal, and breakfast bars. The items collected will be donated to Food Share in Prescott and The Call.  Food Share in Prescott offers food to area families who are in need. The Call is an agency that supports foster families in Hempstead and Nevada County.  Both agencies said cereal donations would be greatly appreciated. With schools being out and children being at home for the summer, we felt like this is one way we can support our local community.  After all, our group has a heart for our children.

We asking if you would like to participate in this community cereal drive. We need businesses in Nevada County that are willing to be a drop off location for cereal.  We ask that you provide a box for patrons to drop off cereal.  (If you need a box, please let us know.) We will supply a poster to go with the boxes. Cereal may be donated any time through June 21 and 22. We will be holding our final collection on Saturday, June 22, from 8:00 to 12:00, at the Stokes Center at Central Baptist Church.  We are asking businesses and churches that participate if you would be willing to bring the cereal to the Stokes Center that day.  If not, please let us know so we can make arrangements for one of our members to pick up any donations you have.

For additional information please contact Ann Oliver at 870-887-3913.  Please let Ann know if your business or church is willing to participate in this community project.

We appreciate your help with this community project.
