William Wesley Smith Jr (Bill), 74, passed away on June 4, 2024, peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 27, 1950, in Gurdon, Arkansas, to the late William Wesley Smith Sr. and Wanda Lee (Cox).   Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a wife of 18 years, Barbara Ann Parker Smith, and a son, Weston Parker Smith.

Bill wore many hats throughout his long and adventurous life as a beloved husband, father, pops, papa Bill, pastor, and construction foreman. Bill was of Baptist faith and served as the pastor of Faith Baptist Church in the Harmony Grove community for many years.

Bill worked for Tim Jordan Construction for approximately 25 years where he mentored many: not only in the profession in which they worked but also in leading his peers to the Lord, as that was his mission in life.  Above all, Bill was a servant of the Lord. There was rarely a conversation he had that did not mention his faith. He never missed an opportunity to share the story of salvation with those around him. Bill was a special person in many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his wife, Margaret Jewel (Callicott) of 25 years; his children, Eric Smith (Margie) of Blevins, Nathan Smith of Arkadelphia, Angela Mitchell (James) of Blevins, Tanya Geary of Camden, Samantha White (Eric) of Arkadelphia, Mary Smith (Jimmy) of Smackover, and widow of Weston Smith (Carol); his nineteen grandchildren, Briar Smith, Daisy Smith, Britni Cottingham, Bradley Mitchell, Lucas Smith, Karina Smith, Barbie Smith, Baleigh Smith, Anneliesa Arnold, Justin Hasley, Taylan White, Everette White, Clara White, Kinsley Smith, Averey Smith, Wiley Jo Smith, Aiden Geary, Claire Geary, and Taylor Geary; and his six great-grandchildren, Tufftin Smith, Evelyn Vanskike, McKenzie Hughes, Colton Arnold, Gracie Arnold, and Sylas Powell

There will be no arrangements as Bill requested to leave this world as humbly as he lived.  The family will have a life remembrance in the future.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Oakcrest the Funeral Home of Hope. Online condolences can be made at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com
