Marcia Jester

Marcia Abbott Jester passed away at her home in Magnolia, AR, on June 16, 2024. Born on February 17, 1960, in Hope, AR, Marcia’s vibrant spirit and loving nature touched many lives over her 64 years.
Marcia was an office manager at the South Arkansas Regional Health Center, where she retired after 35 years of dedicated work. She was an avid supporter of the SAU Muleriders and enjoyed tailgating events.
Marcia’s role as a ‘Ya-Ya’ to her grandchildren, Hays and Margo, was where she shone brightest. Her love for them was boundless, and she reveled in every moment spent in their company. Marcia’s family fondly recalls how she would have done anything for her beloved grandchildren, ensuring their lives were filled with joy, support, and the comfort of her presence.
An extraordinary cook, she took great pleasure in preparing meals for family and friends and her culinary creations extended to catering for those in her community.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Barbara (Dilbeck) Abbott and brother, Dennis Abbott. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Jester; their son, Jeffrey Jester, and his wife, Emily; grandchildren, Hays and Margo Jester of Magnolia; her sister, Alecia O’Conner of West Monroe, LA; and her nephew, Chris O’Conner of Los Angeles, CA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jackson Street Church of Christ with Brian Mickey officiating with a visitation following the service. The family is honoring Marcia’s wishes for cremation services provided by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.
