Myrtle Sandifer-Woodley
Myrtle Ruth Sandifer-Woodley, affectionately known as “Sweet Putten” was born December 9, 1934, to the proud parents, Carter and Bessie Sandifer.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Jesse M. Woodley, her parents, and 8 siblings. Myrtle accepted Christ at a very early age at Mount Cana Baptist Church, and her faith in God remained strong from her childhood, until her final days.
Myrtle R. Sandifer and Jesse M. Woodley were united in holy matrimony May 7, 1955. To this union they were blessed with four children. Jesse L. Woodley of Shakopee, MN, Vernice G. Woodley of Prescott, AR, Derrell C. Woodley (Sharon) of Prescott, AR, and Wimberly D. Woodley of Prescott, AR.
Myrtle leaves to cherish, her four children, one sister Lillie Gray (John) of Madera, CA, William Sandifer (Dorothy) of Eagen, MN, Bernard Sandifer (Jeanie) of Pine Bluff, AR, and Wallace Sandifer of Los Angeles, CA; Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Myrtle’s life was spent being a devoted wife and mother, a loving sister, a caring friend, and most of all, doing what she enjoyed most, her passion, FISHING.
Family time will be Friday, June 28 at 10am at Ward Chapel AME Church, 323 East Laurel Street, Prescott, AR 71857.
Funeral service at 11am at Ward Chapel AME Church with burial to follow at Sweet Home Cemetery in Prescott.
