Victor Stegall
Victor Edward Stegall, 98, of Hope, AR, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 4, 2024. He was born July 12, 1925, to Eddie and Mary Stegall on a farm near Gilmer, TX.
Victor, a WWII combat veteran, entered the Marine Corp at age 18, where he proudly served until his discharge in 1946. Afterwards, Victor worked many years as a linotype machine operator for the Shreveport Times and the Arkansas Gazette newspapers, with a post retirement job as security at Potlatch.
Brothers Willa and Milburn, a sister Faye, a daughter Vicki Lynn Stegall, a step-son Richard Bailey, and his wife of 56 years Patsy Stone Stegall preceded Victor in death.
Survivors include son Timothy E. Stegall and wife Jennifer, beloved grandson Tyler Stegall (all of Hope, AR), sisters Alice Awbrey of Longview, TX, and Wanza Owen of Marshall, TX, along with several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Victor was a member of White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in DeAnn, AR and witnessed God’s grace, salvation, and love in his own gentle way.
Graveside services at Sweet Home Cemetery with Bro. John Nations officiating, under the direction of Brazell Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope will be announced when plans are completed.
