Main Street Representatives Visit Hope

Two representatives from Main Street Arkansas visited Hope on Monday.  Brooke Fleming and Susan Shaddox planned to visit several retail businesses.  Shaddox is the Interior Design Consultant for Main Street Arkansas.  She helps businesses in historic districts with economic development.  Shaddox said she uses “design” as her platform to help businesses.  This can take a variety of forms such as helping with interior colors or helping a business owner preserve an architectural issue.  Shaddox was helping Vintage Girls Boutique owner Connie Lavender with merchandizing.  This included “color linking” groupings, especially the summer merchandise.  Shaddox is a licensed interior decorator and she said she brought “fresh eyes and fresh vision” for Lavender’s business.
