Harmful Algal Bloom Advisory lifted for Bois d’ Arc Lake
LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment’s (E & E) Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has officially lifted its Harmful Algal Bloom Advisory for Bois d ‘ Arc Lake in Hempstead County. Recent testing has confirmed that toxin levels have returned to safe levels, making the water safe for recreational activities.
While the advisory has been lifted, it is still important to remain vigilant and report any unusual water conditions. Harmful algal blooms can recur, especially during warm weather. Signs of harmful algal blooms include discolored water, foul odors, and the presence of foam or scum on the water’s surface.
