Mrs. Annie Pearl King, 86, of McCaskill

McCaskill, AR

Annie Pearl Walker was born on July 26, 1937 to the late William and Nolia Walker in Hempstead County, Arkansas.  She was called to her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Christus St. Michael Hospital of Texarkana, TX at the age of 86.

Pearl was baptized at an early age at Goff Chapel CME Church.  She was employed by Blevins Public School as Cafeteria Manager in Blevins, Arkansas and a Foster Parent for the State of Arkansas.

She was married to Lee Artis King, Sr. on August 6, 1955 and to this union six children were born.  Two children preceded her in death.  They later adopted three more children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and daughters, JoAnn King, Darlene King and Teresa Cray; sister, Lenora McKinney; brothers, Lee Elbert Walker and James Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Cynthia (Isiah Gates) of Longview, TX, Pat (David) Daniels of Nash, TX; Levette King of Longview, TX; sons, L.A. Jr. (Veronica) King of McCaskill, AR, Chris (Denise) King of Ogden, AR, Samuel King of Nash, TX; son-in-law, Tim Cray of Hinesville, GA; brothers, William Walker of St. Albans, NY, Alfonza Walker of Corona, NY; grandchildren, Brannon Gates, Marcus (Tiara) Gates, Quin (Naomi) Gates, Charles (Lisa) McDuffie, Danielle (Jodie) Aubrey, Emerald King, Jasmine King, Jada King, Ashlin Cray, Anastasia Cray; great grandchildren—19; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1-5pm, family hour 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Mrs. King will lie in state one hour prior to services Saturday.  Funeral service will be 3pm Saturday, August 3 at Rising Star Baptist Church, 1002 Beech Street, Hope, Arkansas. Burial will be at Young Cemetery in McCaskill.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
