In Fulton all the position for town council including the mayor’s are open as they are two-year positions. In Hope there are three positions open – for Ward 2, 3 and 5. The deadline to turn in a petition is 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7th. The petition needs to be picked up at the Hempstead County Clerk’s Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to run is encouraged to do so. Other communities likely have open seats as well.
