Hope Kiwanis Hears Bobcat Football Program From Coach Turner
Retired Hope Bobcat Football Coach Johnny Turner introduced his nephew, Bobcat Head Football Coach Phillip Turner at the Hope Kiwanis Club on Tuesday (8-13).
Coach Phillip Turner noted the Bobcats are traveling to Camden/Harmony Grove August 20th for a scrimmage and the official season opens at home September 6th when the Nashville Scrappers come to town.
Coach Turner said they have 35 young men out for football this year. The team only has about 7 seniors but they have good sized freshmen, sophomore, and junior players.
The coaching staff is young this year says Coach Turner. They include Cleveland Gordan who came from Malvern. Brandon Martindale came from Ashdown and Jordan Varner joined the Bobcat coaching staff from the Dallas, Texas area. These new coaches join Jonathan Turner and Bobby Clark.
Coach Turner invited the club to support the Bobcats this season.
