Hempstead County Fair preparation underway
HOPE – The Hempstead County Fair is next week, August 24-30 at Hope Fair Park. The deadline is this Wednesday, August 20th coming up for those who want to register for the arts and crafts, photography, horticulture, canning, baked goods or flower show. Registration must be done online at http://hempstead.fairwire.com. The registration for livestock entries has already passed. For those who need help with registration they can go to the Hempstead County Extension Service for help.
Not only will the participants gain exposure for the skills but also prizes will be given out. Participation in the County Fair enables one to compete in the District Fair. The prizes are expected to be around five dollars.
Junior Division is for youth ages 5 through the fall after graduating from High School or receiving a GED certificate or its equivalent. Go online to register at: https://hempstead.fairwire.com. Register by Tuesday, August 20. No late registrations will be accepted. Be sure to print your entry tags!

“4-Hers, WE NEED YOU!”
4-Hers are needed to help clean the fairgrounds before the county fair. They will meet at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20th, at the Arts & Crafts building. Gloves, trash bags, and cleaning supplies will be provided. Many hands make light work!
