Nevada County Fair Set for September 5th Through 15th

The Nevada County Fair is coming up soon.  The fair will run from September 5th through the 15th. Thursday, September 5th is the only day to enter items in the Arts, Crafts, and Photography exhibition. There will be a parade at 6:00 pm on Monday September 9th.
On Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th, Field Crops, Fall and Garden products, Food Preservation, Household Articles, Quilts and Coverlets, Clothing, Furniture Art, Photography and Crafts may be entered.
On Monday, September 9th Baked Goods may be entered.  There is the luncheon for the judges at noon and the parade at 6:00. Exhibit Halls will also open at this time as they will be open to the public every evening through the 14th.
Check-ins, blood testing and weighing for animals will be done on Tuesday, September 10th.   Wednesday, September 11th will feature the different animal shows during the day and the carnival will open that night. People are encouraged to come to support the carnival and all the hard work in getting it to Nevada County.
The premium sale will take place on Thursday September 11th with a meal at 5:30pm for the buyers and the premium sale starting at 6:30pm.  The potluck meal is said to be the best around. Everyone is invited to support the youth in their livestock projects and the hard work.
Saturday September 13th will feature the pageant.  Younger ages will compete at 10:30am with the older ages at 5:00pm.  The rodeo will be held that evening at 7pm.
Exhibits should be picked up on Sunday September 14th.
The first Nevada County Fair was held in 1937 and it has continued in the same spot for 87 years.
