Clinical Director’s Office named for Robert C. “Bob” Byers
Texarkana, USA – Hospice of Texarkana has a newly named Clinical Director’s office made in memory of Robert C. “Bob” Byers by his wife Judy Gray, longtime Hospice supporter and Hope resident. Bob was under Hospice of Texarkana’s care for nine months before he passed away in 2005. They had been referred and felt like they had made the right decision since it was so important to Bob that his life remain as normal as possible. Bob called all of the nurses who cared for him his “angels” and became very good friends with a volunteer who came to help him Joe Schoen, who was also from Hope. Joe and his wife Thana took good care of Judy after Bob’s passing, as did all of the staff of Hospice of Texarkana. Judy stayed in touch and became close friends with many, including Executive Director Cindy Marsh. She wanted to make a lasting tribute to Bob with the naming opportunity and every year supports their fundraiser Jeans & Bling. Says Judy, “I can’t say enough about Hospice of Texarkana. They are the only nonprofit hospice in this area and no patient’s family will ever receive a bill for any service. There is peace in knowing the family can begin the grieving process without facing any financial burden. They have been there for me and I promote it whenever I can.”
For over 38 years, Hospice of Texarkana, Inc. has been committed to compassionate, expert end-of-life care with highly trained clinical staff providing support to any advanced illness patient with or without insurance.
